Filter with Multiport Valve

  • Filter pressure should be around 10 psi
  • To backwash:
    • shut power off
    • turn multi-port valve to “backwash”
    • turn power on
    • run pump for 1 minute
    • shut power off
    • turn valve back to “filter” position
    • turn power back on
    • add 5 – 1lb. coffee cans of DE into skimmer
  • Run the pump 10-12 hours per day. (eg. 8am to 8pm)
  • Always keep chlorine in the skimmer baskets – 2-3 sticks or pucks
  • Shock pool every other Sunday night with 3 – 1 lb. bags, then run the filter all night
  • Clean skimmer baskets every few days
  • To vacuum:
    • Turn valve
    • Put vacuum hose in pool so it fills with water
    • Vacuum (if the pool is very dirty, shut pump off, empty pump basket near filter, put the lid back on,
      tighten handles, turn pump back on
  • Test the chlorine and PH levels 2 times per week
    • Chlorine should be kept at 1.0 – 3.0 parts-per-million
    • PH should be 7.4 – 7.6(if this is off, go to a pool store with a quart of pool water and and they will test it and tell you
      what the appropriate chemicals to use are for your water)

EC-65 & EC-40 Filters (fingers)

  • Filter pressure should be around 10 psi

    • open valve in back of filter, bump handle up & down
    • turn power on
    • run pump for 1 minute
    • shut power off
    • close valve in back of filter
    • turn power back on
    • add 5 – 1lb. coffee cans of DE into skimmer
  • Run the pump 10-12 hours per day. (eg. 8am to 8pm)
